Goodwill haul and 70% off store pickups.

Went to the 70% store in La Porte. There we found a Weslo Cadence GTX Treadmill.

Well actually we found 2 of them. They sold for 35 a piece and the nice guy behind the counter said. They are missing parts.

Now being the nice guy that I am. And knowing that Susie is preggers. I know that she needs to walk. It’s getting hot outside, quickly. This is when we decided to start searching for a treadmill. We checked goodwill, academy, southeasttexas.com, craigslist, yard sales… nothing struck our fancy. We prayed and asked for help.

That’s when we walked into the 70% off store. I looked inside the boxes and decided there was enough pieces in both boxes to make a working treadmill and it worked. Susie has tried it out several times and we now have a treadmill sitting in our living room. To help fund this treadmill we have decided to have a garage sale Saturday. We plan on stopping the garage sale by 12:00 so that we can get ready to go to Gina’s wedding.

Anyways we also went to the Goodwill. We found a motherhood maternity skirt for $6.00. 3 Pairs of pants for eli, new shoes for Nathan, some toys for the kids (yeah more toys…), and something else I can’t remember.

And I almost forgot. We also picked up some more items at the 70% off store.
We got this Fisher-Price Manny’s Repair Shop for $60.
And Now I can scratch something off our Baby Registry. Cuz we found this The First Years – Nursing Privacy Wrap Black nursing cover there as well for $7.00 except it it’s not black it’s more of a brown and blue swirly thing kind of color :) .

Well that’s our this time. Planning on selling our old crt monitors, and a bunch of other junk so we can remodel the bathroom and reclaim the downstairs.

Good night!

The Goodwill current goodies list

We have found the following items from the goodwill.
#1 Best item so far the Delonghi Cafe Nabucco Espresso machine. All parts working and in amazingly good condition. We paid 2.99 for this bad boy and I have made about 30 lattes with it. Anyone have any good recipes for lattes? The hazelnut and vanilla is getting a little old.

#2. USB Foam dart rocket launcher. This very expensive item set us back a whopping .99 cents. It worked and after a fresh set of batteries and a free driver download I was shooting foam darts at the kids.. Always amusing.
#4. Nintendo DS. Yup found one for $50. This one was actually our worst buy. I say that because I had to replace the touch screen (2.00 for the screen and 1.50 for the tool) so it came in at only a little cheaper than a used purchase at gamestop. Still not a bad purchase nonethless.
#5. A palm zire, $10.00. All cd’s, a carrying pouch, and all the cables to go with it. My kids broke it after a month.
#6 Board games. these never cost over a $1.00 a piece and include the following (almost every game had all it’s pieces.) Cadoo for kids, Zingo, Twister (in a vintage 1964 box), Life, Thomas the train, connect four, and something else I can’t remember. All in all we saved over $50.00 verse buying these new.
Books. OMG I love books, and I have picked up all kinds of books from the Goodwill. Most I got at a 3 for $1.00 sales so they really broke the bank. I found college and highschool textbooks, a writers guide (I’m still working on that one :P ), The choose the sex of your baby book, and countless others.

We’ve found lot’s more treasures that we couldn’t figure out how to move so we had to leave em ( I need a truck). But the Goodwill is a great place to find some real bargains.

Good treasure hunting,
Aaron

Goodwill the source for really cool stuff.

We have saved a huge sum of money by changing where shop for things. I use to buy things full price at places like Wal-mart or Target, but now we hit the Goodwill first. The best Goodwill is about 50 miles from us, but it is well worth the drive. They have a huge selection of books, clothes, furniture, and electronics. The Lord has blessed us with lot’s of games that have all their pieces or almost all the pieces. Either way the Goodwill has been a huge blessing to our family.

Home made laundry soap

I got this recipe from the Duggar’s section on TLC You can follow that here.. Well we tried it and it works! The only thing we do different is we have started adding 1/2 a cup of vinegar and using oxyclean in heavily soiled loads. Similarly I have also found several recipes for dishwashing powder one here and the other here. Once I run out of my Cascade I shall try these out and report back with my results.
